Postmortem information analyser V2
Copyright 1988 M.S.Powell
THIS PROGRAM IS PUBLIC DOMAIN.
Permission is granted to copy this
program along with it's documentation
as long as such copying is not for
profit.
When an ST crashes not only is a
display of bombs produced, but
information is also stored (in an area
of memory that can survive a reset)
which is called postmortem information.
This information give details about the
state of the processor at the time of
the crash. Examination of this data can
be helpful in finding bugs in a
program.
This program displays the postmortem
information (if any) currently in
memory (ie produced by the last crash)
on the screen. All seventeen 32 bit
registers are displayed as is the
status register (displayed numerically
and as characters, showing which flags
were set, and with a number showing the
IPL at crash time) and the PC. The top
16 words on the stack, at crash time,
are displayed at the bottom of the
screen. In the case of an address error
or a bus error, when the 68000 produces
more processor status information, all
of this information is also displayed.
